July has seen us gather a fantastic crop of premium hay and haylage home grown on the farm. We have a wonderful local seed merchant who advises us on the best grasses to make the finest quality hay and this year we carried out some reseeding to create a brand new crop to help us to produce the best results.
There really is something for everyone here at Blackfaulds – whether it is hacking up to the local riding club in the evenings – being only a fifteen minute hack away makes the perfect warm up.
If hacking is your thing – the many fabulous routes are looking rather lovely with the bounteous foliage – fly spray is a must in July!
Local shows and competitions are all a short distance away and we have enjoyed a super fun day at the livery recently, which is a great chance to have fun with our horses and ponies.
Lots of people have taken advantage of having a canter in the open fields – undoubtedly one of the most liberating things to do on horseback.
And for the those who have time constraints – we have our fab new arena surface at the ready to school the horses and ponies and try and keep the weight down when grass growth is at is premium.
