About Us
Meet the Christies
We started our family-run livery at Blackfaulds in 1992. Back then we ran a dairy farm but locals would often enquire about stable facilities. So we built seven, and it made sense because we knew all about raising healthy livestock, managing pastures and growing feed. Hard work and happy customers have brought us to the purpose-built stables we have today. There is one thing we won’t change, however – our commitment to high standards.
Kenneth Christie
Born and raised at Blackfaulds Farm, Kenneth’s enthusiasm for farming took him to university and around the country learning about crop management, animal husbandry and agricultural business management. He knows what makes great haylage and how the land works best at Blackfaulds. No doubt you’ll bump into him as he looks after the day-to-day running and maintenance of the livery yard – gives sound advice, a helping hand and impressively good weather updates.
Helen Christie
Growing up on the family farm in Northumberland, Helen’s been riding and looking after horses since childhood so running her own family livery yard is pretty much a natural progression. She takes the daunting task of yard administration in her stride and goes out her way to make sure liveries and horses are happy.
Julia, Fraser & Amelia
You know you’re in capable hands when these three are about – they’ve been mucking in and out at the livery since they were knee high.
