What an amazing run of dry weather ! One of the most enjoyable things to do is to get out for a hack on the fabulous and varied range of routes we have right on our doorstep. With undoubtedly the best hacking for miles and miles we are spoilt for choice. Whether going on the tower route for a short hack, as seen in this picture or going further through on one of the maze of routes in gartmorn woods, the weather has allowed us to enjoy some true quality time. Horses are never bored here at Blackfaulds Farm Livery, Alloa as having these routes are a great way to keep horses on point and to teach them to be bold.
Horses in our livery have access to grazing in the fields for 365 days of the year. This also keeps the horses from being bored and developing nasty habits from boredom. Being in the fields allows them to move freely and naturally, just as horses are intended to do. Getting through the winter is hard enough with a horse, but allowing them the chance to graze over acres of land gives the owners the chance to keep them as fit and healthy as possible.
As we move deeper into the winter, we have the opportunity to keep our horses going in the most natural way possible by getting out on hacks or by using our fantastic all weather arena with floodlights and about and allowing them move freely in the fields. Let’s pray for not too much wet weather to get our boots stuck this winter.
